Skoda has just unveiled the latest member of its electric vehicle family, the Elroq vRS. Claiming to be the fastest SUV in Skoda's history, the car sets new standards not only in terms of engine power, but also in terms of design and technology.
Elroq vRS Technical Specifications
The Elroq vRS is powered by two electric motors that produce a total of 250 kW (340 hp). This allows the car to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in around 5.4 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric cars in its class. The all-wheel drive system, based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, gives the SUV a stable and reliable performance. Skoda claims that the Elroq vRS offers a more engaging and sporty driving experience than similar models from the Volkswagen Group, such as the ID.4 GTX.
Engineering improvements in Elroq vRS
To improve handling and stability, several changes have been made to the car's technical structure. These include: A redesigned steering system with greater sensitivity | A DCC adaptive suspension system for adjusting the softness or firmness of the shock absorbers | Reinforced brakes for increased confidence at high speeds | A lower body height than standard models for improved cornering stability - these improvements have allowed the Elroq vRS to convey the feeling of a true sports car to the driver, without sacrificing the comfort of a family SUV.
Interior and exterior design
Externally, the Elroq vRS has a bold and sporty look. The use of large 21-inch wheels and black design elements reinforce the aggressive look of the car. Inside the cabin, Skoda has used high-quality materials such as Suedia microfiber. Highlighted stitching in lime green, a perforated leather steering wheel, and sports seats (with the option of adding a massage system) are other features of the Elroq vRS interior design.
Battery, range and charging
The Elroq vRS is equipped with a 79 kWh battery that can travel up to 550 km on a single charge. The car also supports fast charging technology, capable of charging its battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 26 minutes, a feature that will be very useful on long trips.
Price and release time
Skoda has not yet announced the official price of the Elroq vRS, but it is estimated that the electric SUV will enter the European market with a price tag of around 60,000 euros. The official launch of the model is expected to begin in the second half of 2025.
